Thursday Night Lights

Tonight’s game between the Texas A&M Aggies and the Oklahoma State Cowboys looks intriguing on a couple of fronts. To begin with, Texas A&M is a three-point underdog, yet I believe the Aggies might offer some value on the money line at +125 or greater. Secondly, despite the fact that Oklahoma State is No. 1 in the nation in total offense and second in scoring at 57 points per game, I think the Aggies highly ranked defense could prove decisive in keeping the total score under the 65 ½-point O/U total.

Of course, for Texas A&M’s defense to have an effect it will have to stay off the field occasionally — meaning Aggies quarterback Jerrod Johnson will have to play better than he did against Florida International in his last outing.

Texas A&M leads the all-time series 17-8, although the Cowboys have won the last two meetings between the teams.
