7th Monmouth Park (9/28/10)

Top Contenders:

Fair Odds: 8-5

First, the good news: this 5-year-old gelding was just claimed by a guy (Brad Cox) who is 25-of-71 with new acquisitions over the past five years and this trainer-jockey combo has visited the winner’s circle in 30 of 74 pairings. Now, the bad news: Hidden Bay has won just once from off the pace and there are a lot of early speedsters in the field.

Fair Odds: 8-1

Trainer is just 1-for-45 with shippers, but Rapid Redux might find Delaware Park more suited to his front running style and his recent early speed rations (ESRs) indicate he may get the lead.

Fair Odds: 3-1

These big class droppers are always tricky and this son of El Corredor should get a great trip, but the morning line odds look too low to me.
